UFR organization and life

History

The UFR PhITEM is part of the Faculty of Science, an Academic component without legal personality (CSPM) that includes the UFR of Chemistry and Biology, the UFR of Computer Science, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics of Grenoble (IM2AG), the UFR of Physics, Engineering, Earth, Environment and Mechanics (PhITEM), the Observatory of the Sciences of the Universe of Grenoble and the Department of Science and Technology Licenses (DLST).

In 2019

The Établissement Public Expérimental (EPE) namedUniversité Grenoble Alpes" is formed from the Communauté Université Grenoble Alpes (Comue), theUniversité Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble INP (INPG), Sciences Po Grenoble (IEPG) and the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Grenoble (ENSAG). As the Comue disappears, its collective missions are taken over by the new establishment, which incorporates the three schools.

January 1, 2016

With the merger of Grenoble's three universities: Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble 1, UJF), Université Pierre-Mendès-France (Grenoble 2, UPMF), Université Stendhal (Grenoble 3), the UFR PhITEM has become part of the new Grenoble university, Université Grenoble Alpes

February 22, 2011

The UFR of Mechanics, the UFR of Physics and the OSUG (Observatoire des sciences de l'univers de Grenoble) of the Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble 1, UJF) merge under the terms of article L.713-1 of the French Education Code to become the UFR PhITEM (Physics, Engineering, Earth, Environment, Mechanics). All courses previously offered by these structures are now attached to the UFR PhITEM, with the exception of those relating to the dissemination of knowledge.

Our administrative services

Management, HR/Finance, IT and logistics are housed on the CAMPUS EST, in the PhITEM B building, while the training department is located in the PhITEM A-Michel Soutif teaching building and the GreEn-ER building on the CAMPUS OUEST , close to students and professors.
