Platforms

In recent years, physics teaching atUniversité Grenoble Alpes has been structured around the CESIRE (Centre d'enseignement supérieur et d'initiation à la recherche par l'expérimentation). This program represents an original approach to teaching physics through experimentation.
Within the framework of the PhITEM UFR, the thematic scope of the CESIRE has expanded to include mechanics, and is structured around several thematic platforms that draw on a pool of previously scattered practical work experience, as well as "real-world" experience in laboratories in the Grenoble metropolitan area.

The various departments at UGA, as well as several other higher education institutions in Grenoble, can consult CESIRE's training offerings. and structure their experimental teaching with the help of platform managers who are teacher-researchers specializing in their field.

With the introduction of CESIRE, building renovation PhITEM C and D on the Saint-Martin-d'Hères campus has led to greater thematic clarity and better synergy between the various themes. Under the responsibility of the UFR PhITEM, there are now several platforms, each correlated with one or more Grenoble research laboratories.

Some platforms, such as the Interuniversity Centre for Microelectronics and Nanotechnologies (CIME Nanotech) or the national network S.mart (formerly AIP-Primeca) which concentrates resources that are also open to industry. Or the SEISM (Simulation Et Instrumentation des Systèmes Mécaniques) platform, which enables experimental results measured on real systems to be compared with numerical simulations.
