Grades, Diploma, and Further Education

Transcripts and diploma

Once the first semester is over, you will receive your grades from your host university. Please send them to us at the following email address: phitem-international@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr

Please do not translate your grades; PhITEM faculty members are responsible for determining grade equivalencies. These grades will be assigned during the year-end or semester-end review.

If you don’t have your grades yet—for example, in the UK, where grades are issued annually rather than by semester—please let us know and provide an estimated return date to avoid multiple follow-ups.

At the end of the academic year, your grades will be converted to determine your standing at UGA. This transcript, based on the French grading system, will be reviewed by the committee responsible for your year of enrollment. The conversion scale can be viewed via this link. This scale is non-negotiable.

You will receive a year-end transcript with a grade for each semester, as well as your certificate of completion.

Your official Bachelor’s (L3), Master’s 1 (M1), or Master’s 2 (M2) diploma will be issued at the same time as those of all PhITEM students and should be available in February of the following year.

Master's Program Application

If you plan to study abroad during your junior year, this means that during your year abroad, you will need to apply for a master’s program if you intend to continue your studies.

For these applications, you will be asked to submit your transcript for the first semester of the current academic year; however, during your exchange program, you will receive only one annual transcript at the end of the academic year—that is, after the application periods in March and April.

Internal application at UGA: Since the program coordinators are aware of your situation, you do not need to submit any additional documentation.

External application at UGA: Send an email to the RI office, and we will provide you with a letter explaining why you do not have a grade.
