How can we build the world of tomorrow in a way that is reversible and fully sustainable for the planet? How can we build without using new materials? How can we build with dignity and humility? How can we do a lot with a little? How can we combine educational activities with the creation of well-being for society? In short, how can we build a new world that is livable and environmentally friendly? These, in a nutshell, are the goals of this intensive workshop on reuse.
The PhITEM Department atUniversité Grenoble Alpes, ENSA-M (the National School of Architecture of Marseille), and ENSAG (the National School of Architecture of Grenoble) are organizing an intensive workshop on the reuse of materials from September 22 to October 2, 2022, as part of Grenoble, European Green Capital 2022.
Over the course of 10 days, on the Saint-Martin-d’Hères campus, in front of the INSPÉ (National Institute for Teacher Training and Education), 50 students from architecture and civil engineering programs will work together to design and build a bike shelter, outdoor furniture, and landscaping features using reused materials.
This event is supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, Grenoble-Alpes Métropole, the UGA Department of Culture, the Vice President for CSR (Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility), the UGA Design Factory, the Directorate General for Heritage, Urban Planning, and Energy Transition, the CROUS of Grenoble, and the INSPÉ.
